I think it’s the fact that there really are only 8 Christmas songs, with scores people doing their own variations is what gets me. And each variation sucks just a little more than the last one. Take ‘Santa Claus is Coming to Town’; after the Jackson 5 did it, there was no reason to do another cover. That hasn’t stopped tons of other people (glares at Mariah Carey) from trying…and being annoying.
